Saturday Yoga
9am

Each class = $23, Series of 4 classes = $92

The best way to learn any skill is to start with the fundamentals. This 60-minute yoga basics class will give you a taste of the movement, meditation, and theory of yoga in a fun, judgement-free space.

We know that yoga can be intimidating.

Maybe you don’t think you’re flexible, or your balance isn’t great, or you have NO clue how to stop thinking when you meditate (or you’ve never tried meditation!)

We still love you. We still think you’re an AWESOME yogi. And we think that yoga is fun, powerful, and accessible for any body.

Our classes are special.

We’re going to move slowly. We’re going to explain the poses. We’re going to ask questions. We’re going to sweat!

Our basics class at 9am is dedicated to helping you fall in love with yoga (and yourself). You’ll get to explore new shapes, new ways of breathing, and new ways of relating to your own body, ALL in an accessible, fun, no-judgement way.

Open to all levels.

Basics doesn’t mean “easy”. Even if you’re an experienced yogi, our Basics class is a perfect way to invigorate your practice, better understand alignment, or accompany a friend that’s new to yoga!

If you’re ready to turn it up a notch, check out our Integrative Vinyasa Class at 10:30.

When we give, we receive. $3 from your ticket is going to Charity:Water, an organization dedicated to delivering clean water to people around the globe. They are *powerful* folks on a mission, and we’re so grateful to support them.

Be a SUPER giver. When you purchase a 4-class pack, you’ll pay the same price, but an extra $8 will go to charity (yep...we’re taking less money for ourselves because we want you to give more).

One short course. . . long-lasting results for you!

A revolutionary map with practical results! Transform your view of myofascial anatomy and expand your ability to assess postural and movement patterns, and to create lasting fascial change with your hands. In this new and expanded 21-hour workshop format you will learn about the myofascial tissue and its many roles in the body. You will begin to appreciate how the body incorporates the Anatomy Train Lines to create easy and graceful movement – provided they are in some form of balance and harmony; restriction or weakness in one section can have many knock-on effects elsewhere.

This workshop will show you how that happens, how to trace the lines of strain and, most importantly, how you can develop strategies to deal with them.

This is the first workshop to combine Anatomy Trains theory alongside structural and functional anatomy and analysis, blending together the concepts of tensegrity with elastic recoil for movement efficiency.

Get the latest information on fascia, muscle, and movement

Be able to identify the 12 myofascial meridians and their link to human growth, development, perception and consciousness

Accurately “BodyRead” posture and movement; assess your clients in a new way
Gain effective myofascial and movement strategies
Develop treatment strategies specific to your clients’
structural and functional patterns

Anatomy Trains in Structure & Function courses give you new techniques to transform structure by reaching deeper issues in the tissues.

Note: This course the pre-requisite for the ATSI Professional Certification Training.

Anatomy Trains in Structure and Function / Structural Essentials Program

Functional, Fascial and Structural approaches in one program
Understand how the body really moves,
Break the myths of anatomy and physiology
And learn to make the appropriate changes to maximize efficiency.

Note: It is strongly recommended to take the Anatomy Trains in Structure & Function course before taking the SE courses. Familiarity with the Anatomy Trains lines and concepts is key to getting the most from the program

We’re going to move slowly. We’re going to explain the poses. We’re going to ask questions. We’re going to sweat!

If you've tried the 9am Basics class and you’re ready to turn it up a notch, check out our Integrative Vinyasa Class at 10:30.

Move Into Wholeness -- A Spiritual Study Group, February 12 - April 2

Tuesdays, February 12 - April 2 (except March 26)
11:00am – 12:30pm
$70 for the series or $15 per class

At a time when there is so much apparent conflict in our society, we are faced with a choice: to remain in the old paradigm of fear and separation or step into the new, directed by our own higher consciousness, of coming together with curiosity and an open heart.
The Teal Center is excited to host a Spiritual Study Group weekly on Tuesday at 11:00am – 12:30pm in our community classroom. We are currently reading and discussing A Course in Miracles. No prior knowledge of this text is necessary.

All are welcome! If you register for the first 7-weeks of study (12/4-1/29), cost is only $10 per meeting. Drop-ins are $15 at the door. Please bring your own copy of A Course in Miracles, Complete & Annotated version.

A Powerful, Caring Way to Heal Unresolved or Challenging Issues in Your own Life and Family

This work is a neo-shamanic ancestral healing method employing deep listening to the energetic field to clear blocks and patterns that are unconsciously passed down to us. Similar to psychodrama, but not controlled with our conscious minds or egos. We observe what organically emerges from the field. This soulful work was developed by Bert Hellinger in Germany. Family Constellation Work helps you connect and correct the past and present, so that you can move forward with inner peace. You connect in a deeply heartfelt way with yourself and others. This work can be transformational.

If you are the “main client”, you can fully experience a shift in your own personal heart and history-a shift in which the lineage of love from your forefathers becomes unclogged so that you can receive the strength of your most positive birthright: unconditional love. If you are a supporting participant in the process, your own psycho-spiritual growth is enhanced by stretching the body’s biochemical/electrical/emotional-spiritual pathways (reawakening the body’s meridian system) and making it possible to quite literally walk in the shoes of another. You discover deeper empathy for yourself and others, find forgiveness and understanding that creates inner peace, strength, and skills to resolve difficulties. During the process, we see quite clearly that the universe is non-dual, that love is the principle of all creation, and this helps create peace.

The Structural Essential series is a set of intensive soft-tissue technique courses divided into functional regions. Combining movement and manual techniques for the most efficient and long-lasting results, and using the latest research on the interaction between skeleton, muscles, joints, and fascial proprioceptors, this series of workshops will take you to a new level in therapy.

Designed with the busy manual therapist in mind, each Structural Essentials event gives you a new understanding of the relevant area. The content will outline how the structural and functional anatomy relates to many common issues as well as to the rest of the body. Based on many new and established approaches this series will give you the skills in palpation, BodyReading and functional analysis needed for the modern multidisciplinary therapist.

Arches and the Legs – Underpinning all of our structure is the foot’s interaction with the ground, imbalances here clearly have consequences further up the body. Effective arch balance can be essential for easy and graceful walking, pelvic stability, low back efficiency and even head and neck support. The feet and legs are literally the foundation for the rest of our structure and this workshop will analyze the bones of the feet and how they conspire to help or hinder the arches. We will look at the forces coming from the leg muscles and create strategies to help maintain better mechanics by dealing with myofascial restrictions and imbalances.

The Knee and Thigh – A complicated hinge in the middle of two long levers is perhaps not the best of designs – but this “elbow designed by committee” is an excellent work of engineering. The knee joint mediates forces coming down from the hip and up from the foot and still allows a wide range of movement in all but the frontal plane.

Objectives

How to differentiate your analysis of the foot and legs from the rest of the mechanical chain, giving an accurate reading of their skeletal relationships
How to assess and then provide good foot and leg support through the three (or four) arches of the foot
How the arches act in walking and standing and their relationship to the pelvis and the AT lines
How to balance the support the arches receive from the long muscles of the calf
Effective strategies to unwind rotational compensations in the foot, the tibia-fibula complex and the knee.
Learn how the structures of the knee and thigh co-operate to achieve this and learn to recognize some of the structural dysfunctions that can occur.
BodyRead the various imbalances which can occur
Learn to balance the common rotational movements of the knee

Note: It is strongly recommended to take the Anatomy Trains in Structure & Function course before taking the SE courses. Familiarity with the Anatomy Trains lines and concepts is key to getting the most from the program.

Monday, June 3, 2019 - Sunday, June 9, 2019
08:30 AM - 05:30 PM

48 Continuing Education Units
Approved for Continuing Education: NCBTMB
Tuition: $900 if paid in full by April 2nd (increases to $1000 on April 3rd)
Prerequisites: Graduates of a 500+ hour professional massage therapy training program

This 6-day Oncology Massage course is an opportunity to learn not only the basics of oncology massage, but also some of the more specific details that will get you started if your path is leading you in the direction of working with clients affected by cancer.

It includes three supervised, hands-on clinics with actual clients (one specifically addressing scar tissue and two full-body, client-centered sessions). Students will develop a working knowledge of the disease process of cancer as it relates to massage therapy as well as the ability to speak intelligently with colleagues, other medical professionals and clients about the benefits and safety of oncology massage. The course includes daily opportunities to practice hands-on protocols and techniques which can be put into practice immediately. Six days also affords the opportunity to address the topics of building an oncology massage practice and/or hospital program, including how to talk to doctors, how to approach medical offices and infusion centers and how to network within existing programs. In addition to technical skills, students will learn about themselves and their beliefs and assumptions about disease, wellness and death and dying. It might be the most fun you’ve ever had learning about cancer.

Cancellation Policy
A $500 deposit is required to hold your space in this class. Included in this deposit is a non-refundable $75 registration fee. The full course tuition is due no later than 30 days prior to the first day of class.

08:30 AM - 04:30 PM
14 Continuing Education Units
Tuition: $375 until May 1st (increases to $425 on May 2nd)
Prerequisites: Must be a practicing massage therapist or physical therapist

This course is designed to advance the therapist’s understanding of fascia’s structure and function and pathophysiological consequences associated with commonly addressed clinical presentations (e.g. soft-tissue scars, sprains/strains, tendinopathies, over-use type injuries, low back pain/dysfunction, sliding and force transmission impairments and neurovascular compression syndromes).

The aim of the practical component is to assist the therapist with; broadening their skill set (assess for fascial dysfunction, manually engage fascia and provide safe, non-invasive treatment), improving delivery of care and achieving better patient outcomes.
The course material includes emerging research and concepts from the International Fascia Research Congress’ and evidence informed clinical considerations applicable to massage/manual therapists.

To expand the therapist’s ‘global’ thinking and treatment skills, an introduction to the functional lines (e.g. myokinetic chains or myofascial meridians) will also be included.

The material and hands-on are delivered in a comprehensive, yet user-friendly manner, infused with humor and loaded with easy to integrate, practical skills and knowledge!

Fans of the Hip

The hip and pelvis combine to transfer the forces from two legs and into the one spine and therefore has a hugely complex role to fulfill in the body. Ida Rolf described the pelvis as ‘the joint that determines symmetry’ and it is easy to see why. Differences between the hips can affect down into the legs or up through the spine. Achieving balance here can be essential for long lasting results in any therapy. This course sheds light on the pelvis – the keystone of human architecture – by organizing the 20 or so muscles of the pelvis into three fans. Get specific with sensitivity.

Highlights include:

Shoulders and Arms

In this driving day and computer age, the arms get unique usage these days. This course travels from the shoulder to the hand on the Arm Lines, giving techniques for every station along the way.

These include:

Releases for each joint of the shoulder
Soft-tissue techniques for shoulder muscles
Elbow and upper arm muscle releases
Lower arm extensor, flexor, radial, and ulnar releases
Wrist and hand work

Note: It is strongly recommended to take the Anatomy Trains in Structure & Function course before taking the SE courses. Familiarity with the Anatomy Trains lines and concepts is key to getting the most from the program.

Cancellation Fee Up to 8 weeks prior, full refund less $100 admin fee; Less than 8 weeks and up to 4 weeks prior 50% refund; less than 30 days prior nonrefundable

Be a SUPER giver. When you purchase a 4-class pack, you’ll pay the same price, but an extra $8 will go to charity (yep...we’re taking less money for ourselves because we want you to give more).

Saturday Yoga - Vinyasa
10:30am

Each class = $23, Series of 4 classes = $92

We know that yoga can be intimidating.

Maybe you don’t think you’re flexible, or your balance isn’t great, or you have NO clue how to stop thinking when you meditate (or you’ve never tried meditation!)

We still love you. We still think you’re an AWESOME yogi. And we think that yoga is fun, powerful, and accessible for any body.

Our classes are special.

We’re going to move slowly. We’re going to explain the poses. We’re going to ask questions. We’re going to sweat!

If you've tried the 9am Basics class and you’re ready to turn it up a notch, check out our Integrative Vinyasa Class at 10:30.
